For the longest time, I’ve wanted contacts. In fact, since I found out during a routine exam in the 2nd grade that I needed glasses, I wanted contacts. My parents were against it and thus glasses became a part of my look. When I turned 18, I tried contacts but due to my prescription they were super expensive and not as comfortable. While others were exploring colors and dailies, I had to wear toric lenses that often flipped and slipped. I gave the non toric lenses a try in 2006 which resulted in me ripping my cornea and swearing off contacts forever.
Most recently, after being tired of walking in from the cold and having my glasses fog up, I started researching wearing contacts again. I came across the ACUVUE OASYS with HydraClear Technology contacts. As the #1 doctor prescribed contact lens, it serves as the leader in the market. These contacts offer a technology that results in more rewetting so no more of having to drop in rewetting drops every few minutes. In addition, it also has UV blocking for those sun filled days that our eyes are exposed to. Best of all, they have two week contacts (for Toric users as well) and depending on your prescription, could possibly be worn overnight.
I was a little skeptical but after meeting with Dr Susan Resnick, she assured me that these are some of the best contacts and that I should give them try. I put them on to try them out and ended up wearing them for the rest of the day. I was shocked on how natural they felt. I even reached a few times to adjust my glasses, realizing that I didn’t have them on.
If you are thinking of trying out contacts, I would recommend these Acuvue OASYS.
