According to WWD, Michael Bastian is creating a line for GANT. GANT, one of the premiere American sportswear lines will feature a line by Michael Bastian in Fall 2010. The line will be a 50 piece line and will be about 20% higher in price then the usual price point of GANT clothing. However the prices will be much more affordable than Michael’s own line which retails anywhere from $400 for a woven shirt to $1200 for a blazer. Michael’s collaboration with GANT will retail anywhere from $100 for a shirt to $400 for a blazer. Ari Hoffman, CEO of GANT USA calls this partnership a “authentic collaboration” Michael started his line in 2006 and was recently nominated for Menswear designer of the year by the CFDA.
Michael Bastian commented, “I see my version of the GANT guy as the younger brother to the MICHAEL BASTIAN guy. He’s tailored, a bit sporty, and a little more athletic, with a modern edge that feels both approachable and sophisticated. Working with GANT will allow me to reach a larger audience, and together we will provide a modern and workable proposal for the perfect American guy’s wardrobe.”
