Don’t you just hate when you lose something and someone asks you “When’s the last time you saw it”. Obviously if you remember where you had it last, you would know where to find it. As a kid and even as an adult, I’m constant losing/misplacing things. Everything from glasses to the remote and sometimes even my cell phone. Unlike the item you lost, the time you spend looking can never be replaced.
Just the other day my dad was visiting here and after a few hours, he realized he lost his keys. We had been allover Brooklyn and spend a lot of time retracing our steps. Finally I called our Uber and my keys were returned a few hour slater. (Said driver insisted on a tip as well which was annoying).
Immediately I though about the email I received about the Tile App and thought it was the perfect time to give it a shot.
So check it, here’s the 411 on the Tile App.
Tile casts a Bluetooth signal up to 100 feet, making short work of any haystacks you lose your needles in. And since every phone with Tile helps find your stuff, your search range is potentially limitless.
It’s $25 and allows you to find a lost item.
The app supports up to 8 Tiles, so you don’t need to make any hard choices about what you’ll Tile and what you won’t.
While Tile doesn’t have GPS real-time location information, the app does automatically record the last place your phone saw your Tile. Because if you have to retrace your steps, it’s good to know where to start walking.
When you begin searching for a lost item, your phone tracks the Bluetooth signal strength of your Tile. As you get closer, the app’s tracking circle fills in, giving you a clear indication of your progress.
If your Tile is lost, tap the Mark as Lost button to report your lost Tile. Once your Tile has been found by either you or a Tile community member, you will be notified of the item’s location.
I can’t wait to try out my tile on my keys. I have the feeling I’ll be buying a few more to put in my bag, my wallet and a few other things I tend to lose.
I want one of you try it with me.. so I’ll be giving away a tile to a lucky reader. All you have to do is either comment on this page and like the post on either Facebook or Instagram and you’ll be entered to win.
