]]> We at FresherThanChris.com are so happy to present the next fashion editorial,   “All American Fresh”.    For years, we’ve considered mens fashion in the states to be classic Americana.  Meaning its routed in heritage and traditional looks with household brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and J.Crew.  However, we are seeing more of these brands take bigger risks as well as being influenced by street wear brands.   We saw this happen in the 1990s, when hip hop embraced these brands as a whole.  Not since the integration of denim and cowboy boots in Country and pop music, had we seen a genre of music embrace clothing in this way.

With a rehash of several decades of fashion happening in this current time,  I wanted to show Classic American sportswear with a street wear influence.  Of course mixing high and low,  I wanted to show looks that are not only fashionable but that this can fit in your wardrobe despite your budget.    With the help of brands like Express,  RockSmith,  Hudson,  and Raf Simmons for Fred Perry,   I present to you the latest editorial.  Enjoy!

]]> The Met Gala is a charity event that happens every year that not only serves a fundraiser but also as the official kick off to the fashion themed exhibit. This year’s theme was PUNK (From Chaos to Couture) highlighting the punk movement that not only happened in fashion but in the world as well. Fashion is often inspired by the social climate.   It’s nice to see the recognition of this at the high level.   I look forward to the day when hip hop has it’s exhibit.

But let’s talk about the fashion of the night.   While in traditional style, a lot of the men just got “dressed up”, some of the guys took some fashion risks and really made some impact on the red carpet.  See below to see some of our favorite looks from this season’s gala.

 



Darren Criss in a custom Richard Chai look.  One of my favorite looks of the night.


Tom Brady working a powder blue Tom Ford look with his wife Gisele


Jason Sudekis in Calvin Klein and Jordans.  Not quite punk but a cool look nonetheless
Victor Cruz taking a break from his Calvin Klein looks stepped into this one button look from Lanvin. 
Props to his girl for her daring look on the right. 



Loved Andrew Garfield's look from Moschino. 

Joan Smalls was the arm candy for Tom Ford in Tom Ford of course. Love his Wide lapel DB blazer. 

Amar'e Stoudemaire rocking Calvin Klein.  Not a fan of this look that much.  

Thom Browne in Thom Browne. I'm a big fan of his work in general, but no so much this look.


Tommy Hilfiger in this plaid number. Pretty fresh, would have been nice to see an athlete or actor in this look

Pharrell looks great in this look from Lanvin.  Check his guyliner!


Do You like Miguel's look?  Yeah? well me too.  



WE loved Frank's look from Givenchy.  It would have been nice to seen him in a color tho.



Tyson Beckford in this pink camo blazer by Alexander Nash.
 

Zachary Quinto did give a little bit of Punk inspired look this with this ensemble.  Blue hair was a nice touch!




Brahim Zaibat, Madonna and Riccardo Tisci close out the night wearing Givenchy.

]]> This last few week showed some interesting style moments from some of our favorite folks in hip hop and the silver screen.  Check out some of the fresh and not so fresh looks from this past week.

 

Jay-Z stepped out looking rather sharp in Tom Ford at the red carpet for The Great Gatbsy premiere.

Michael K.Williams in this gray contrast lapel blazer with bright pink shirt.   Jeymes Samuel rocking a blue suit that we wished he had other buttoned the other button or made it a one button suit.

 

Diddy hit the city of Las Vegas in the ever popular Gangster Madonna sweatshirt from Givenchy.

Chris Brown kept it chill for his 24th birthday in this leather paneled short sleeve hooded sweatshirt.

 

Method Man rocking this shirt from Rocksmith.  Not sure what happened with Redman and these dark jean shorts.

When you get the chance to have love scenes with Kerry Washington, you should be inspired to dress better.  Craig Robinson in this periwinkle sweater with ill fitted denim from 2001.

We recently spotted this amazing floral bomber at MrPorter.com  This bomber jacket is from the Balenciaga and is defintely a splurge at $1535.   However at FreserThanChris understand that everyone can’t spend that kind of money, but still would want fashionable trend right pieces.  Check out some lower priced options that are just as fresh.   Let us know what you think!

 

A less expensive than the Balenciaga, this Moncler Print Puffer Jacket retails for $1150.

At $91, this jacket is a nice alternative to the floral bomber and perfect for this time of year.

For $109, this floral printed jacket from Scotch and Soda is an great printed number.

 

Not exactly a jacket, but a nice floral hoodie option. At $99, its a pretty good deal.
